Woodward Dream Cruise
August 20 and 21 - this annual event is one to clear your calendar for!
The weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon, begining at Byron's home with a John DeLorean Memorial Tour of the Detroit area at 2:00. The JZD tour includes his grave site, the first DMC Headquarters, and two residences. The tour will then continue to Byron's home on Elizabeth Lake, conveniently located just 15 minutes from Woodward Ave., for food, entertainment, and reflection. There is plenty of parking available, and ample room for detailing prior to the cruise on Saturday!
Saturday we will be located in Memorial Park at Woodward and 13 mile (North East side just North of the Fire Station); the Heart of Woodward! The park is home to it's own car-show-within-the-cruise event, showcasing about 300 high end classic cars every year. There are an estimated 400,000 attendees that walk through this particular park to see the cars. This park is known for the car clubs, food vendors, bathrooms and entertainment. In addition, the light tree coverage provides shelter for our machines. For those interested in taking some time to cruise Woodward, the event coordinator will work with us to allow a group cruise and return (the actual time will be determined later).
To secure your spot, the downloadable registration form and payment of $35 must be received by Byron Cancelmo, hopefully sooner than later! Royal Oak has given him 30 days to secure the 20 spaces reserved, so you won't want to wait until the last minute. Please mail your checks payable to Byron Cancelmo to the address below, and e-mail Byron to ensure the check and registration are received and your space secured. For those who would prefer to use Paypal, send your payment to byron@vamacoustics.com. Registrations can be e-mailed, snail-mailed, or faxed to Byron (do not return to address on form, Byron will turn in all forms in one group). Feel free to contact Byron for area information, event information, accommodations guidance, payment arrangements, or send him chain mail.
Save the Date - Unfortunately, J. Patrick Wright is not able to join us for the Cruise; however, there is another event at Grosse Pointe Farms on September 1st that would include this co-author of "On a Clear Day You Can See GM". Details on this to come!
